This September marks the 15th anniversary since the September 11, 2001, attacks. DeFeet Hunger 5k was created to do something positive in the world and to help others as a response to those attacks.
De-Feet Hunger is a 5k run/walk that begins at St. James UMC. It is a beautiful course along the Paseo. It is a very family friendly event. After the race people from all over the city join together to pack lunches for Harvesters. These lunches are used for at-risk youth and adults, and in disaster response situations.
Over 25,000 lives have been touched by these lunches.
The race begins at 8 a.m. with the lunch packing immediately following in the parking lot of St. James UMC
