More than 1,000 runners, walkers and volunteers have enjoyed the 2014 Louisiana Skeeter Run, to date! One more race to go in Woodworth on Nov. 8th!
The third annual Skeeter Run, focused on raising funds and awareness for Imagine No Malaria, was held Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014 in four cities throughout the state - Baton Rouge, Lake Charles, Mandeville and Ruston. A preview run was held Aug. 9 in Shreveport, with nearly 300 United Methodists, friends and community members enjoying fun and fellowship.
In addition, a race at the Wesley Center in Woodworth will be held Saturday, Nov. 8. Online registration is still open for this race! (see below) Please make sure to bring a signed waiver for every person registered.
Registration cost is $20 each for all Walk/Runs and $10 for those under the age of 18.
Last year over 2,500 people participated in the Louisiana Skeeter Run. We hope you will join us as we put our best foot forward to continue the fight to save lives.
Every 60 seconds, malaria claims a life in Africa. Millions of lives, needlessly lost each year. A continent. Entire nations…slipping away. Slipping through life’s precious net. But together, we can stamp out this preventable disease.
All proceeds will go to benefit Imagine No Malaria.
FOR EARLY PACKET PICK-UP, CHECK-IN & RACE TIMES, please check the information page for your race of choice. There is also a Race Routes page.
If you can't join a run/walk near you, please consider donating to this important program and help us end malaria!
Together, we ARE MAKING a difference!
